Developmental evaluations at CGC are targeted to children up to the age of six with a variety of development disorders including pervasive developmental disorders (Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, PDD NOS), learning disabilities, and mental retardation. Pre- school children with other difficulties such as ADHD, anxiety, or symptoms of trauma, are also good candidates for an evaluation.
In many cases, the children being evaluated exhibit a wide range of difficulties simultaneously. These may include cognitive and social difficulties as well as psychological symptoms.
Developmental evaluations are administered by a multidisciplinary team of professionals with expertise in early childhood development. They incorporate state-of-the-art assessment tools, an extensive clinical interview with the parent and may include daycare or pre-school observations as well.
