Peoples United Bank graciously hosted a wine tasting event for the Child Guidance Center (CGC) on May 19, 2010, at their newly remodeled branch on Greenwich Avenue. The event was a wonderful opportunity to promote visibility and awareness of CGC's services in the community. Grapes of Norwalk provided the wine and donated a portion all of all proceeds to support CGC's work, raising $285 to help children and adolescents in our community.

Come Play!...At the Zoo
May 1, 2010
Thank you to all those that generously participated at the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut’s (CGC) benefit Come Play!...At the Zoo, held on May 1, 2010. With an amazing outpouring of support from our community, this year’s benefit raised over $254,000 for CGC’s professional mental health services for children and adolescents.
The proceeds garnered from this event will provide crucial help for children and adolescents in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, and New Canaan who are struggling with psychological, behavioral, developmental, social or family problems.
The year's benefit was the result of extraordinary time and talent by our event committee: Laura Weintraub Beck, Paul Hampel, Virginia Hyde, Kenda McDonnell, Lina Morielli, Margaret O'Neal, and Sallyan Zenko.
We are profoundly grateful and encouraged by the community's commitment to support CGC’s work helping children access the services they need to overcome traumatic experiences, challenging life circumstances, and serious emotional problems. Thank you.

Come Play!...It's Field Day
May 9, 2009
Thank you to all who took part in this year’s Come Play!... It’s Field Day benefit on May 9 to support the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC). With 240 guests and over $221,000 raised, we are profoundly grateful for the incredible outpouring of support.
We are touched by the level of generosity shown at our benefit, despite the financial strain many are experiencing. In difficult economic times such as these, it is critical for affected families to receive the mental health support that they need. The proceeds garnered from this event will provide crucial help for children and adolescents in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, and New Canaan who are struggling with psychological, behavioral, developmental, social or family problems. With your support, our mental health services will make it possible for children to resolve problems and surmount challenges that interfere with daily functioning and threaten long-term development.
The splendid evening was truly a night to remember and was the result of the extraordinary talent of our committee, Laura Beck, Paul and Christine Hampel, Virginia Hyde, Kenda McDonnell, Lina Morielli, Alexandra Walko, Amy Zabin, and Sallyan Zenko.

Thanks to all who took part in this year’s annual Come Play! gala to benefit the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut (CGC). Once again, the playful theme helped reinforce the agency’s mission to restore childhood for those youngsters who struggle with mental health issues. Nearly 290 people attended the event and helped us raise over $255,000. This funding is critical in providing programs and services to children, teens and families in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien and New Canaan.
A special thanks goes to our co-chairs Greenwich residents Laurel Forst, Debby Lash, and Leslie Lee, along with other committee members, whose incredible energy and creativity made this event an especially enjoyable and memorable affair.
We are grateful for the commitment demonstrated by this year’s corporate sponsors, including: Deloitte & Touche U.S.A., LLP; GE; GE Money; Kelley, Drye & Warren; KPMG; Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, LLP; Sempra Energy; Thomson Reuters; Towers Perrin; and UBS Investment Bank, as well as the many patrons of the event who are extremely generous though too numerous to list. Additionally, our sincere appreciation is extended to the area businesses and individuals who donated items for our silent and live auctions.
This event would not have been possible without the support we received from volunteers, sponsors, patrons and auction donors, not to mention without the ongoing dedication of our own staff and board members. It is gratifying to witness such an outpouring to help children and families in need of our services.
